JESSWASHERE

My name is Jess Graves. This is where I flex my writing muscles... and stuff. I head up a Southern Lifestyle blog called The Love List. You can find that here. I own and operate a full-service design studio called Front Porch Studio as well. Oh, and if you're interested in my outdated ramblings on music, that is here. You can also follow me on twitter.

Around this time of year, we and our musician friends near and far collectively pour one out over the inevitable receipt of the SXSW rejection letter. It doesn’t mean you can’t play the festival, it just means you’re not on the short list for endorsed showcases and free stuff. You’re not, you know, official.

Imagine our surprise (like, stare at the computer screen in awe for a solid minute) when the words “pleased to invite…” appeared in our e-mail this year. We’ve hardly been able to contain ourselves with this news, but why keep it any longer? We, Capybara, are pleased to invite YOU to our official SXSW 2011 showcase in Austin, TX.
Now, we haven’t been given a specific slot yet, so more details to come.
In the meantime, be sure to stop by our Kickstarter and help us grease the wheels on the new material. It has been an overwhelming and humbling response so far, and we’re grateful beyond measure. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we hope to see you in March!
(SXSW, you’ve really changed our plans for this March. Thanks a whole lot.)
